Serena Williams Rio Olympics Tennis

Serena Williams, a great American professional tennis player’s and actress, her full name is Serena Jameka Williams. She was born in September 26, 1981 . She is ranked No. 1 in women's singles tennis. The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has ranked her world No. 1 in singles on six separate occasions. She became the world No. 1 for the first time on July 8, 2002, and achieved this ranking for the sixth time on February 18, 2013. As of July 18, 2016, she has been ranked world No. 1 for 179 consecutive weeks, seven weeks shy of Steffi Graf's record, and 302 weeks overall. Williams is regarded by some commentators, players and sports writers as the greatest female tennis player of all time.

Serena Williams was born in Saginaw, Michigan, to Richard Williams and Oracene Price, and is the youngest of Price's five daughters: half-sisters Yetunde, Lyndrea and Isha Price, and full sister Venus. When the children were young, the family moved to Compton, California, where Williams started playing tennis at the age of three. Serena and her sister Venus were home-schooled by her father, Richard. While he and her mother, Oracene, have been their official coaches, there are several other coaches and mentors too who helped her learn the game included Richard Williams in Compton; i.e. not her father, who would go on to find Venus and Serena Williams Tennis/Tutorial Academy. If we describe her physical athletic features, they include her height, which is 1.75 m and she weighs 70 kgs, as we know weight specification is there for matches the athletes play. She leaves us wonderfully struck as we come across the fact that she has won 22 matches of grand slam in singles. She had advanced to the final of this year’s Australian Open and French Open, but lost to Germany’s Angelique Kerber and Garbine Muguruza, respectively.

As we look at it further as a human she has contributed to the society in a great manner one can ever do by providing education .i e., She has devoted a lot of time and money to charity, including opening two Serena Williams Secondary Schools in Kenya (one in 2008, one in 2010); Further touring Lagos and Johannesburg with sister Venus for 'Breaking The Mould' tour (in 2012); She is UNICEF International Goodwill Ambassador; andshe has also made many other appearances at schools and community organizations, particularly those which target at-risk youth . She has always been interested in fashion, with a custom-designed Nike apparel line, her own clothing line (Aneres) and her successful HSN collection of handbags and jewelry (Serena Williams Signature Statement) .Serena Williams favorite author is Maya Angelou. And has a good music taste too, She listens to Mariah Carey, Brandy etc. She has all the future choices like any other girl. Hence her favorite place to visit is Paris . Being a player doesn’t leave her stuck to one thing, perhaps she also enjoys acting, watching movies and football, reading, talking on the phone and spending time with family and friends. Next then , one of the important thing in her playing career she made her pro debut at Québec City (as unranked WC, l. to No.149 Miller 61 in first round of qualifying) in 1995.

The next thing been added to her golden hat with a golden feather is the “Serena Slam” , It is when you win four of those Grand Slams in a row, a feat Williams achieved with her Wimbled on victory on Saturday — she won the 2014 U.S. Open, and has now swept through the first three Grand Slams of 2015.

As far as the Olympics is concerned Serena was the London 2012 gold medalist in singles and doubles. But this time the most talked Rio Olympics didn’t came as one of the best Olympics for her as world No. 1 Serena Williams lost a tough third round match against Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina on Tuesday night. After being defeated in doubles (alongside sister Venus) on Sunday night and now singles, Williams is completely out of competition at the Rio Olympics.
